We are sorry to say that next week’s meeting (12/14) will be the last for this semester. Tutoring will resume again next semester, starting January 11, 2012.

We are ordering T-shirts by the end of the month as well, so don’t forget to bring your $10 dues to the  meeting this week if you want one.

121Reach Northview

121 Reach Northview

• The 121Reach Set-Up. You will be paired with a tutee, a middle school student, and consistently work with them throughout the school year. You will be able to help them in various subjects. Meetings are Wednesdays each week from after school to around 5 pm.
• Transportation: If you can get transportation from your parents, it would be greatly appreciated. For those who can’t, there will be permanent transportation lists. You will be with the same driver each week to prevent mishaps and misunderstandings. After the meeting from RTMS, we will not provide transportation, but there is a bus that goes from RTMS to places like Baby Cakes, Walgreens.
• REGISTER on our blog here: http://121nhs.wordpress.com/ under the Register header as a tutor, or you will not be considered a member. So remember to REGISTER so we have you in our database!
• DUES – Dues are 10 dollars. Remember to bring these in! We will be checking to see who has and who has not paid dues. You must pay dues in order to participate, but the dues will cover lots of stuff like your 121Reach t-shirts as well as food for parties and other events!
• You will receive 2 hrs for every meeting of volunteer hours!
• Tutors receive one day off IF NECESSARY, where you can not attend a meeting once per month (For when you’re being buried under homework, too busy to come etc). Please try to come to approved absences like a doctor’s appointment, etc can be taken if you contact us first

Our first meeting is schedule for September 14th. Please contact us if you’re coming the 14th! WE REALLY need Parent Volunteers for transportation to ensure rides for everyone! So if you can offer assistance, please contact us!

Our first tutoring session will be next Wednesday, September 14, 2011. Please make sure you sign your child/children up for tutoring before this date so that we know what they need help with and how to contact you in case they don’t show up.

121Reach Northview

We will be having our first 121Reach meeting for tutors Wednesday, August 31st right after school in Ms. Connor’s room, room 309. This meeting is for both new members and returning members. We’ll be discussing a variety of important things (including new t-shirt designs, how the club works, etc.). So please leave the time slot open!

• 121Reach will be back next year. We are giving current members the opportunity to sign up for next year right now. If you are interested in keeping your child in the program for next year, please email us at northview@121reach.org or reply to this post with your name,  your child’s name, their grade next year, and your email address.
• We would love it if any parents would write us a testimonial for the website. We know there are parents who are unsure about signing their kids up for 121Reach, and we feel that this would really help them make a better-informed decision. This year has been a great experience for all of us! Our first year running the club has gone smoothly, and we hope we can further improve the club next year too. We know all of our tutors have enjoyed this experience, and that they’ve learned a lot from teaching the kids too. Hopefully, you’ve received the notice that we will be having a banquet tomorrow, on Thursday as an end of the year event! The Banquet will be from 4:00-5:30 in Ms. Fitch’s room and parents and children are invited!
